Where do I find the Course Syllabus?

Every course at CustomCE has its own Course Syllabus and includes all of the information about the course that a Learner may want prior to delving into the course materials or paying for CE credit.  Among other course details, the Syllabus contains the course title, description, tags, category, number of credits, course fees, and course authors and developers. The Course Syllabus is available prior to purchase through its product page and is included on the Course Page after registration.

how-to-add-to-my-cart-2

You can register for a course by adding it to your cart either on the Current Course Offerings page or on the individual course product page. Your cart will always be present in the upper right corner of the page if it contains any courses.

Once you pay for your courses, they will show as Purchased on the Current Course Offerings (if you are signed into your account).  You can access all of your courses through your My Account page.

If you purchased the Unlimited Courses package, you will register for courses in the same way except course prices will be $0.00 and you will not be transferred for payment.

How do I earn continuing education credit?

In order to receive credit for the course, you must pass a course quiz with a minimum score of 80% and must complete a learner survey.  The course quiz measures the course objectives achieved by the learner and the learner survey helps us improve our courses  and course offerings.  Once the quiz is passed and the learner survey is completed, you will have access to your completion certificate.  You can access all of your courses and completion certificates when logged in through the My Account link on the main menu.

How do I complete the Course Assessments?

All of your courses are stored in your transcript on your My Account page. Clicking on the Course Title will redirect you to the Course Page where you will find the course syllabus, all course materials, and all course assessments.  You are required to pass the Courser Quiz with a score of 80% or higher and to submit the Learner Survey in order to access your Completion Certificate.

How do I access my Completion Certificates?

Completion Certificates indicate successful completion of a course and are accessible once all course requirements are complete.  This generally means scoring an 80% on the Course Quiz and submitting a Learner Survey.

Immediately after submitting the Learner Survey, you will be presented with a blue View Certificate button.  Clicking this button will open your certificate in PDF format in a browser window.  From here you can use your browser to download, print, or email your Completion Certificate.

All of your Completion Certificates are saved on your My Account page under the heading Registered Courses so you can access them at any time.  To view your Certificate, click the gray arrow Open Course Button to the left of any course you have completed and then click the Completion Certificate Icon .

  4. Click the Certificate icon to open the Completion Certificate in a new browser window.  From here you can use your browser to download, print, or email your Completion Certificate.

  5. To See All Completion Certificates: Click the Expand All link in the upper right hand side of your My Account page to open all courses.  Clicking the Collapse All will close all courses.  The arrow beside each course can still be used to open and close courses individually.

Why does my Learner Survey show a score?

This is an estimate of the grade you gave the learning experience for that course. The higher the score, the more positively you rated your experience.  We use this score as part of our Continuous Quality Improvement program. If you liked a course, didn’t like a course, or just have some feedback, please Contact Us.

What is Unlimited Access?

Unlimited Access to all course for a full year is an alternative to purchasing courses individually. When Unlimited Access is purchased, learners can register for as many courses as they want at no charge. The price for each course changes to $0.00 for all courses. Registration remains the same but you will not be transferred for payment. Unlimited Access expires 365 days after date of purchase.

What is continuing education?

All of the learning experiences that we offer for credit to psychologists and related mental and behavioral health professionals are intended to build upon a completed graduate program. We adopt the American Psychological Association’s definition of continuing education for psychologists as “an ongoing process consisting of formal learning activities that (1) are relevant to psychological practice, education, and/or science; (2) enable psychologists to keep pace with the most current scientific evidence regarding assessment, prevention, intervention, and/or education, as well as important relevant legal, statutory, leadership, or regulatory issues; and (3) allow psychologists to maintain, develop, and increase competencies in order to improve services to the public and enhance contributions to the profession.”

How are courses developed?

All courses offered for credit through CustomCE follow a Course Lifecycle that adheres to the ADDIE Model of Instructional Design.  ADDIE, which stands for analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate, is the most widely used model for designing and maintaining high quality online curriculum. Faculty develop, review, and revise courses within the Course Lifecycle following a detailed process aimed at meeting the quality standards of the American Psychological Association (APA) and Quality Matters (QM).

Because we offer only peer reviewed continuing education, every course undergoes a detailed Course Review process that requires final approval of both the Course Developer(s) and a Course Reviewer.  These faculty members are listed on the Course Page for every course under the heading: Course Instructors.

Visit About Us to learn more about our mission to offer high quality, relevant, accessible, and inspirational learning experiences.

What are Course Categories and Course Tags?

Categories represent our attempt at grouping courses by professional activity in order to (1) ensure relevancy to the professional practice of psychologists and related professionals and (2) assist the learner in customizing their learning experience.  Every course at CustomCE must fit into at least one of five categories (listed below).

Testing and Assessment – Courses in this category focus on testing and assessment as both processes and outcomes, as well as on any specific assessment instrument and its related applications and research.

Treatment and Evidence-Based Practice – Courses in this category focus on the treatment of individuals, families, and groups, including psychotherapy, and on both treatment effectiveness and treatment related research.

Disorders, Symptoms, and Populations – Courses in this category focus on psychological disorders and the individuals, families, and groups that are impacted.

Program Development and Community Service – Courses in this category focus on mental and behavioral health program development and improvement, including research and service related to communities and community needs.

Ethics and Professional Standards – Courses in this category focus on issues of ethics and professional standards as they relate to psychologists and their performance.

All courses are tagged with key words and phrases to further assist the learner in understanding the main topics that are covered within the course.  Course Categories and Course Tags are listed for each course on its Course Product Page. You can also search for courses by category or tag from nearly every page on the CustomCE Virtual Campus.

A cooperative is an organization run by those who both create and use a product or service. In some cases those involved also share in the profits of the organization. In our case it is both. CustomCE is registered as a member owned and run LLC with up to 50% of its profit returned to members, typically in the form of commission on courses they develop or review or as a partnership with community organizations who share their courses with our members. Learn more on our Partner with Us page.
